Just a quick little front yard transformation here Just a quick little front yard transformation here... including four fruit trees, lots of herbs, some perennial vegetables, and a very tiny field of garlic. This is great example of "use what you've got". There was a heaping mound of poor soil that was dug up from a geothermal install. We made do by spreading it around to make some curves and a rise to the beds to get a bit of water retention too. A few cubic yards of good compost and woods chips later and you've got yourself a little food forest growing up fast!

Have you heard? Mo and Oliver are getting around t Have you heard? Mo and Oliver are getting around to all our maintenance clients by bicycle this year! We invested in an E- bike from @ternbicycles to further reduce our emissions and zip around town faster. And after 13 years of resisting motorized tools, I finally gave in and got an electric chainsaw. It's so much easier! #appropriatetechnology for these times, my friends.
Welcome home! Not just to you, but also to the man Welcome home! Not just to you, but also to the many pollinators supported by these native plants!
This garden is reseeding and blending itself beautifully and slightly different every year around a few anchor perennials and shrubs. In this case we converted lawn to garden via sheetmulching and worked around foundation shrubs that were already there rather than removing them and the result is so packed with vitality. We also addressed a water issue and made a mini rain garden behind the swamp milkweed.
This garden was just as thriving last summer with little rain.

Please send healing thoughts towards our Ryleigh who suffered a back injury today! 💙

Attention urban dwellers in the Boston area! Your Attention urban dwellers in the Boston area! Your Linden trees are blooming! You can make yourself some delicious tea from these blossoms. Linden hang low for easy picking and are common street trees. The blossoms are attached to a bract, it's easier to pull them both off the tree at once then pull the bracts off when you're back at home. I gather a bag full and dry for use during the rest of the year. Also known as Tilia or Basswood.
